Listen, no one said being a Royals fan would be easy. The team currently sports a 23-32 record, good for second-worst in the American League. (What’s up, Astros!?) And despite getting George Brett back in uniform, this team is still a tough one to root for.
Exhibit A: this very sad Royals fan, who can’t even bother wearing sleeves or finding a helmet that fits his head. Look at that tiny ice cream helmet, sitting up there, alone, sad, dejected, comically sized, devoid of ice cream. Like a metaphor for this whole Royals season, or something.
Is the fan scratching something out of his eye? No. Just trying to wipe away the shame.
