Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has had advisers come out of the woodwork during his rehabilitation from a knee injury he suffered last season. Some have been helpful (likePresident Obama), some not so much (Donovan McNabb, according to certified McNabb-hater Bernard Hopkins).
McNabb made waves earlier this month when he suggested RGIII needs to scale back on his public appearances in the media, alleging that he’s become a distraction to the team. IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins, meanwhile, thinks RGIII should avoid McNabb like the plague.
“What I would advise him: run from McNabb. Run. Run. Run. And press charges if he tries to [connect]. Listen, seriously, this is an assault on this man. Listen. Run, and if he continue to stalk you, call the first police station, whatever town you’re in, and file a report.”
Those are strong words from a strong man, but Hopkins was only getting started.
“Everybody has an advice to give, because someway, positive or negative, they have an adivce for what to be or what not to be….Even a homeless man, even a dopehead, this person or that person, they can give you advice. But is it the right advice, is the key.”
