President Barack Obama’s history with basketball and love for the sport have been well documented. But like many Americans, Obama also tried his hand at baseball — as evidenced by a campaign photo showing a young Obama preparing for a swing:
Young Obama appears to bat lefty — no surprise, since the president’s a southpaw. But if this is how he waits for a pitch, it’s clear why he’s a politician now instead of a Hall of Fame first baseman. Who else would take his eyes off the ball to mug for a camera like this?
