Jay-Z’s hotly anticipated new album Magna Carta Holy Grail (the one he announced with the really long Samsung commercial) will be released Thursday, and it looks like it will feature at least one tie-in to his new career as an agent.
“Scott Boras, you over baby,” Hov raps on the track “Crown,” according to ESPN. “Robinson Cano, you coming with me.”
Cano, of course, is the marquee client of Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports, a group that now includes NBA star Kevin Durant and WNBA rookie Skylar Diggins. The New York Yankees second baseman was formerly a client of the superagent Boras before joining forces with Jay.
Jay-Z once bragged about having “A-Rod numbers” on “All I Need,” a song on 2001′s The Blueprint. Now, he will try to get a similar contract for one of Alex Rodriguez’ teammates this offseason.
