Why are so many fighters suddenly picking against Anderson Silva?

When you’re at the top, and you’ve been there for so long, one thing is for sure: Haters gonna hate.
So is that the case with Anderson Silva right now?
Heading into Saturday night’s middleweight title fight against Chris Weidman at UFC 162, Silva is riding a 16-UFC fight win streak — including 10 title defenses — that has lasted seven years. That makes him the most dominant mixed martial artist of our time and maybe the greatest ever. And yet that seems to matter zero to a growing number of notable UFC fighters who are on record as predicting Silva’s demise.
Among them, Chael Sonnen, Rashad Evans, Daniel Cormier, and Gray Maynard all believe the undefeated Weidman, who is just 5-0 in the UFC, will pull off the upset. Even welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is on board with this, saying “people are going to be shocked after the fight.”
What gives? What makes Weidman so special? I guess we’ll find out this Saturday, but in the meantime you can check out what the fighters had to say below:
