Donna Lebano is a big Chicago Blackhawks fan. She celebrated this Mother’s Day with her new baby boy, Owen Michael.
Lebano went into labor one month ahead of schedule while she was watching the Blackhawks beat the Minnesota Wild at Chicago’s United Center last Thursday night.
But she just couldn’t leave the game, even though she was having contractions.
“No way was I leaving,” Lebano said. “We are a Hawks family. I had to see the end of the game.”
Lebano was with her three sisters at the hockey game. Her first contraction hit during the second period. But she stuck around until the Blackhawks won, 5-1.
Just a few hours later, Lebano gave birth. Owen Michael weighs 6 pounds, 5 ounces and is 19.5 inches long.
“Owen is such a great baby, very patient,” Lebano said. We’re doing fantastic and we think of Owen as (Marian) Hossa’s hat trick. Two goals in a playoff game and a baby delivered moments after getting to the hospital is an epic hat trick.”
