The winner of Sunday’s Indianapolis 500 will be greeted by the unmistakable Borg-Warner trophy in the winner’s circle, which may just be the weirdest trophy in sports. The 5’4″ behemoth contains the likeness of each driver to have won the 500-mile race, along with their name and average speed. The trophy was given a new base to accommodate more faces in 1986, and again in 2004.
The winner does not actually receive the original Borg-Warner trophy, which weighs more than 150 pounds. Instead, the winner gets a faceless, miniature version, called the “Baby Borg.” Dario Franchitti, who won the 2012 race, collected his baby Saturday.
Oh, and the guy atop the trophy waving the flag? He’s naked.
