Third-grader Maggie Cera was taking a multiplication test at her Chicago-area elementary school when she was encountered with the always-tricky 9×9. Maggie knew the correct answer and saw she could prove it by honoring her favorite Chicago Blackhawks player.
“I thought it would be funny to do it,” Maggie told dnainfo.com.
Her teacher, Christine Mech, agreed. Once Mrs. Mech heard the explanation, Maggie was awarded a 100% on the quiz.
The Blackhawks haven’t been getting such high marks. The team is down 3-1 to the Detroit Red Wings in their Western Conference Semifinal
