Ricky Stenhouse Jr. wrecked girlfriend and fellow Sprint Cup rookie driver Danica Patrick during Sunday's Coca-Cola 600
Danica Patrick said Sunday night's Coca-Cola 600 wreck with boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. made for an unpleasant car ride home after the race.
Patrick, speaking to reporters during a Wednesday test at Pocono Raceway, said there were "a few silent moments, for sure -- or many moments" after she, Stenhouse and Brad Keselowski's three-wide attempt ended in a crash.

"I was upset, and I wasn't just strictly upset at him, but he was there three-wide as part of the issue," she said. "Obviously, like Brad said, he didn't know we were three-wide. He wasn't leaving much room for me and then I didn't leave much room for Ricky. And so Ricky just moved up that little bit and I moved up to make sure we didn't hit, and that was either what got me into Brad or right when Brad was coming down."
Patrick said the incident was "one of those racing things" where there wasn't enough room and communication between the spotters and drivers -- and said she and Stenhouse have always raced each other with plenty of room in the past.
"I just think it was one of those situations where we were on a restart and were trying to dig for what we can," she said. "It's the Coke 600, it's a big weekend."
The on-track incident though, didn't carry over too much into their off-track lives.
"We'll be fine; we're fine," Patrick said. "We had a lovely day on the boat (Monday), on the lake, got a suntan. All good."
