Giants’ Angel Pagan hits inside-the-park home run FTW, and it was fantastic

Not since June 12, 2004, when Ray Sanchez did it for the then-Tampa Bay Devil Rays, had a player ended a Major League game with a walk-off inside-the-park home run. And not since 1931, when Hall of Famer Bill Terry did it, had a Giants player accomplished the feat.
That is until Angel Pagan delivered the goods Saturday in the San Francisco Giants’ 6-5 win over the Colorado Rockies in 10 innings. There really are no words, except to say that it’s every bit as thrilling as you would expect a walk-off inside-the-park homer to be.
Almost as epic as the play itself was the elation displayed by third-base coach Tim Flannery, who made the gutsy decision to wave Pagan home rather than hold him at third with one out in a tie ball game.

Check out Flannery in the background of this picture, too, as Pagan slides into home — pure, unadulterated, priceless joy.

This makes seven walk-off wins for San Francisco this season, which leads the Majors. The ability to come through in clutch situations certainly is one way the Giants have won two World Series championships in three years.
(H/T @carmenkiew for the awesome GIF of Flannery.)
